When Souls Take Flight:
Coping with Grief

“Your soul is lit from within, and that light is a spark of divinity shining through you.
It is steady and unwavering, and like your consciousness, it goes wherever you go.”
– Kira Rosner, When Souls Take Flight: Coping with Grief

Big Love

When Souls Take Flight was inspired by a series of revelations that began while caring for my precious father. My family and I had one focus–dad’s comfort. Day after day we did everything we could to ease his journey.

Then I realized physical comfort was only part of the picture. To help him in a meaningful way, I also had to address his feelings about death.

Trusting the words would come, I began to speak. The more I said, the more my descriptions of what happens when we die and the afterlife grew. I said: “When your breath comes to rest, your soul will gently disengage from your body with your life force fully intact. You’ll return to your spiritual home, where you will be lovingly received and reunited with souls who departed before you. Death is not the absence of life. It is merely the absence of the physical form.”

Honoring Veterans

Best selling author Dannion Brinkley is one of my heroes. I am humbled he endorsed When Souls Take Flight. In 1997 Dannion began “The Twilight Brigade” as a way of honoring the needs of veterans. Among their services, they offer free training for volunteers so no veteran should die alone. Dannion, a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, has sat at the bedside of countless deserving veterans as they’ve departed.

Death & Dying

What happens when someone dies? When our loved one takes their final breath, their soul departs with their life force fully intact. They return home to a place where love is never lost. Where they are warmly received by their celestial family. Where our presence in their lives is greater than our absence. Where the bigger picture is the only picture. Where they recognize themselves as children of the divine.

When Souls Take Flight shines light on a subject all too often equated with darkness. This soothing book presents a refreshing view of what happens when we die. With particular focus on the longevity of the soul, it offers compassionate advice for anyone who is grieving, caring for a loved one in their final days, or terminally ill themselves. If you’ve lost someone you love, or are about to, this book was written for you.
