Book Marketing Tips for Authors
Write down all the subjects your book pertains to. If it answers a question or solves a problem, write that down too.
Join whichever social media platforms you are drawn to. If there is an option to create a profile and/or header, include your name, book cover, website.
Within that platform, look for groups that relate to your subject matter and join them. Some of them may be well established and have large memberships. This your target audience.
Each time you post, some platforms give you the option of choosing who can see your post. I know Facebook Business or Professional pages offer that option. Be sure to post to the groups you have just joined. In one click you can reach 100,000 like-minded viewers.
When you post, rather than marketing your book like a salesman (or saleswoman) post sincere authentic comments concerning your mutual interests. This will attract equally genuine followers and potentially, readers.
Here is another simple marketing step many new authors seem to skip. If your book(s) is already being distributed by Amazon, create an Amazon Author Page by joining Author Central. Include your bio, book description, website, video if you have one.
If you don’t have a book trailer, check out a service like www.animoto.com and make one. It’s easy, fun, and affordable.
