Dear Readers,

I am slowly emerging after spending over three years glued to a computer writing several books at once. The first is on the longevity of the Soul, entitled When Souls Take Flight: Coping with Grief. It is currently available for purchase online and off, in softcover or as an Ebook. (See www.LifeandDeathBooks.com)The second is a lyrical story of a woman’s awakening called: Taking the Longing Out of Belonging. I anticipate it going to press in the next week. The third is a reprint of my first book, The Power of Being Human.Having recently taught myself Indesign, I decided to do a more eco-friendly lay-out that uses less paper. My next writing project is still in process and recently morphed into two books: one on the mechanics of experience, the other on the mechanics of relationship. By mechanics, I am referring to what goes on under the hood of our human engines. A fifth book features main points from all my books combined. And in the midst of it all, I am marketing When Souls Take Flight with the intention of selling the Ebook version worldwide, to help raise money to donate printed copies of the book to Hospice.

Admittedly, writing and publishing one book after another is not everyone’s idea of a good time. It requires long, solitary, sedentary hours married to a machine. While I suspect there are some authors who enjoy a degree of normalcy while they work, for me the inspiration to write has been all-consuming.

Did I anticipate becoming a recluse living in a world inside myself, while the world outside went on without me? No, I did not. Except in retrospect, I can see how my life path led me to this point in time. And how spending several hours a day in meditation for the past thirty five years has opened my awareness to the subtle dynamics of creation. As I say in the introduction to my current work in progress, I was schooled in silence – was and still am.

Some think of silence as the absence of sound. That’s one definition. The silence I am referring to is not about lack or emptiness. It’s about abundance and fullness. It’s about connecting our individual awareness to a universal awareness and discovering that divinity is more intimate to us than our breath.

Does one have to meditate in order to have a cognitive experience of the unity underlying diversity? Personally, I have found meditation to be an effective way of getting out of the way. It has certainly broadened my vision and understanding, and I’m hoping my insights will also benefit you. How? By helping you recognize the truth. You are a living exponent of all that is sacred.

Many blessings, Kira
